Connect printer to a computer and wait for installation driver then search for ServiceTool_v1074 download. If you can not find it just let me know, i send it to you. After download service Tool (Resetter) follow the instruction:
1- printer switch to off.
2- press the STOP/RESET and hold, then press the POWER and hold.
3- when holding POWER button, release STOP/RESET then press it two times.
5- wait for a while until printer showing 0.
6- open the Service Tool and put two papers on tray.
8- click on the EEPROM Clear in operation.
10- turn off the printer by POWER button.
Ketika printer canon dihidupkan, di LCD panel tampil E 0 8 bergantian, dan saat dibuat mencetak muncul jendela:
The ink absorber is almost full.
Press the printer's Start button to continue

Cancel Printing, dan matikan printer, karena printer harus direset.
Untuk hal tersebut, diperlukan aplikasi ServiceTool_V1074. Aplikasi bisa didapat di sini.Agar aplikasi bisa berjalan dengan benar, printer Canon MP258 harus 'dibawa' ke dalam kondisi Service Mode, dengan langkah-langkah sebagai berikut:
3. Tekan dan tahan tombol On
4. Lepaskan tekanan pada tombol Stop/Reset, lalu tekan 2x tombol Stop/Reset
5. Lepaskan secara bersamaan tekanan pada tombol On dan tombol Stop/Reset
7. LCD panel menunjukkan angka 0, berarti Canon MP258 sudah dalam keadaan Service Mode.
Saatnya menjalankan proses Reset Canon MP258.
1. Ekstract file hasil download, dan jalankan program ServiceTool_V1074.exe
2. Siapkan beberapa lembar kertas di tray printer, lalu klik EEPROM dan OK
3. Printer akan mencetak dengan tulisan seperti di bawah ini.
4. Klik Main.
5. Printer akan mencetak tulisan berikut:

6. Klik EEPROM Clear, lalu klik EEPROM lagi.
7. Printer akan mencetak coretan berikut. (bandingkan dengan coretan sebelumnya, dan temukan bedanya)
8. Matikan printer. Nyalakan kembali printer, dan printer siap digunakan dengan normal kembali.
